Love this! That thick, luscious fog! Those trees! Just looking at your photos and hearing bird song gave me such a nice, peaceful break from traffic noise we experience. Do you by chance hear peacocks? Your home is such a wonderful retreat from city busyness. God chose well and you for listening.

No peacocks here, sadly, though we did have them close to our last place. We do hear roosters on occasion now, though, when we walk Josie.

Oh yes, the park - Campo Martires da Patria - is wonderful has filled with various fowl. They have a pretty good Italian restaurant in the park as well.

We just moved from an apartment looking at Entrecampos train station to one where we look at trees. It looks so much more beautiful now to us, even though we liked our apartment. But seeing trees and hearing birds is so lovely. Your views are fantastic!!

What an upgrade! I'm surprised by what a difference it makes to seei green in a city.

Love the pictures! I have always believed that you don’t truly know a place until you’ve lived there for four seasons. Thank you for sharing your first year with us!

Trees and birds are my thing. Do you have the Merlin app from Cornell? It's pretty neat and has educated me about the birds visiting our backyard feeder. Just make sure to download the bird pack for the Iberian peninsula to get detailed results! 🌳🐦🐦‍⬛

I used to have the Merlin app. I do need to figure out what that lovely song is!

Thanks for the views. Brought back many memories; I lived in Campo de Ourique until I was 12 years of age. Then, off to Newark NJ... :-(

I thought it was a stretch, but I didn’t know if any live near you. I love hearing them and all birdsong. And am surprised we can hear the peacocks this far from the gardens. There are roosters in Jardim do Estrela, but we are to far away to hear them.

Roosters in Jardim do Estrela! I've missed them somehow. I loooove that park but don't get there often enough.

Lovely views!

Ha … the patio that’s popular with “the Bros” … looks similar to Saturday mornings in the park in Graça near where we stayed for the first part of our trip.

Are you in an area that celebrates St. Anthony/the Saints? The big day is tomorrow, right? Do you go to the parade? There were more decorations put up in Alfama each of our last days there.

Yes! It's tomorrow. The main area is Oraça Alegria, ~5 minutes from us. We'll be able to hear it from here.

That’s a cool park! We stumbled upon a celebration of World Theater Day there … they had cutouts of actors and actresses all over the park and gave out awards. Enjoy!!!
