I'm sure the weather will be spectacular come May, but well before that I am expecting a significant turn for the better. Last year we visited in March, and while we had a couple of cooler/rainy days, we also had several gorgeous, warm ones.
Good choice! Six months isn't enough time. You haven't even begun to explore Portugal or Europe. If money isn't a factor, what's the rush to return here? You'll iron out the rest of the kinks/questions in time, so just hang in there and enjoy the adventure. Plus, you've gotten Josie's vote, and you know you don't want to disappoint her!
Wow. Aren’t we (Michele and I) happy that you will continue to call Lisbon your home. While reading, I was a bit apprehensive that your decision may be something else. Phew!! 🥰
Good News! Has sounded that you have enjoyed your stay so far with all the Great things you have seen and are learning with out (I may say-) the over head here in the USA. Go for it!! Always wishing Good Safe and Exciting Travels!! Aunt Peggy
That's thriling news. I'm happy for a very selfish reason -- I get to continue to vicariously enjoy your life. But mostly I'm happy for the two of you -- you worked so hard to make this all happen and you deserve to enjoy it for hopefully years and years. All the best to you!
Yeah we've never had access to public transportation anywhere near this good. Even when I visited DC recently and got around on their system I felt Lisbon's was better.
And it has taken some work to re-program my brain from "be careful of those guys hanging out on the sidewalk smoking weed!" to "Cool. There's guys hanging out on the sidewalk smoking weed." I'm getting there.
The fact that Amy is feeling so comfortable helps. And she's feeling comfortable in part because everyone she talks to feels comfortable.
Hooray!!!

Looking forward to the warmer times!
Sounds like more positives than negatives. XOXO
Portugal is also...a very nice base to explore cheaply all neighbors (Spain, southern France, Italy, Croatia, Greece).
100% agreed!
Happy to hear you are staying! I so look forward to reading your posts!
You're going to need to come this way again so we can meet you!
We actually booked a flight just yesterday. We will be arriving on June 29th for 2 weeks. I’m sure Anthony will be reaching out as we get closer.
Congratulations on making this decision! You've come so far and have so much more ahead! I want to visit!
Big hugs!❤️

Josie's vote should be worth twice either of ours :-).

YES!!! Here's to more exciting experiences!
Whoo hoo! Go Portugal!!!
For the first time in a long time I was rooting hard to preserve the status quo. Excellent news! Enjoy!
WOO that means I can still keep Portugal on my visiting list hahaha
You'd better!
I'm glad you both are in agreement about staying.
Wow, this sounds amazing. I'm so envious of the public transit. Car culture is the worst. And walking alone at night as a woman? Never met her.

It's a virtuous circle of comfort? Maybe?
