What an adventure. I'm glad you got the wallet back. A question: Regarding the residency card, is it possible to carry around a copy and leave the original at home, or does it have to be the original?
I think it needs to be the original but that's a good question. I don't know if a copy of, say, a US driver license would be sufficient in the US. Officer Paulo did say that it wasn't necessary to carry our passports with us unless we absolutely needed it for something specific (like, say, filing a police report) and that we should make a copy of our temporary paper residency permits and carry the copy (which we would only need to do if we didn't have our residency cards). I think the residency card is a different beast, though.
It is a nice wallet. And I don't think it will be used much longer. Amy's already looking at different designs. This one is hard to use on the fly in the Metro.
Another great post ... love your sense of humor. We lost a wallet at the Cascais Mercado. After a few minutes an officer approached us and asked it we were missing anything. We said yes, a cork wallet...he smiled and pulled it out of his sleeve.

I swear, you should be turning all of this into a script. Comedy or drama I'm not sure, but something!
Black comedy? Dramedy?
Jen B, great question. I was going to ask if a picture in your phone would be good enough, I'm guessing that probably won't work
Glad it was resolved but wow! Stressful. XOXO
What an adventure to get it back and what a relief! I’m so glad you did. I think you exhibited an immense amount of patience in the process too!
Hurray for happy endings! That was a very memorable adventure!
Nice wallet!

All's well that ends well, but good grief. Buy a better handbag, for sure. But this kind've stuff happens to everyone sooner or later. Not fun.
Better handbag, different wallet are both on the list.

Awesome! A much simpler return process :-D.
So glad for the happy ending!
