What happened to poor Marta Vieira da Silva?

Oh my gosh. I didn't do my research well enough. Everything I read said Ronaldo was the first man to score in five World Cups and I just assumed the word "man" was being used generally rather than specifically. Turns out two women beat Ronaldo to scoring in five World Cups. Thank you for pointing that out!

Love it! Just getting to this post now so I could savor it during a respite in the day. I do believe they have named the airport in Madeira, Ronaldo's birthplace, after this intergalactic star. And glad that Marta's achievement for the Brazilian women's team has received more attention now that Ronaldo is the second human to score goals in five World Cup tournaments.

There is pro basketball here! I've seen it on TV. Also, not that it will necessarily be of particular interest to you, but apparently there is also pro volleyball, which I think (???) doesn't exist in the U.S. It is a great sport to watch.

I am down to watch pro volleyball. Absolutely. I feel like I know more about volleyball than I do soccer right now. And I've seen ads for basketball on TV, not sure how I feel about it here, though. Doesn't seem like it can hold a candle to the NBA, but maybe I'm wrong.
