I was wondering how things like voting and taxes worked from overseas. Looks like you get a say in the politics of your last location of residence in the US. Will you stay on those voter rolls indefinitely? Once you get past 2022, will you only file federal taxes?

The rules on voting very from state to state, mostly for which races you can vote in. In Missouri, our last place of residence in the US, we will be able to vote for all offices indefinitely. Other states limit that.

And yes, as far as taxes go, we will only file federal taxes. Because we did not reside in Missouri for more than half the calendar year (we left the state in late June), we will not file state taxes for 202.

Well said, and I couldn't agree more. The Lung Association used to have a slogan: If you can't breathe, nothing else matters." We are now at a point where if we don't have a habitable planet, nothing else matters.

AMEN! Thank you, Scott, who, despite being far away, has done something important, nay, crucial, to make the US, and, dare I say, the entire world, a better place.

(Couldn't match your four words in a row, but wanted to participate in comma fun! And yes, I do still have three rec letters to write before midnight tomorrow. Don't judge.)
