So, you guys stumbled upon the original escape room! If they had been thinking things through, they could have made tons of money making people figure out how to get out.
(I know...I am full of good ideas.) :)
I'm shocked at the food prices. Even 38 Euros for a shared plate seems incredibly high for a smaller town. I assumed when we got out of Lisbon, restaurant prices would be much lower. Maybe not such a safe assumption?
At one point I commented that the food prices we were seeing were definitely Lisbon prices. We certainly did not see every restaurant in Nazaré, and we have seen lower prices in other places. I was surprised at the menu prices in Nazaré.
Wonderful summation! The photos are stunning. I know of the place for the historic waves and international surfing scene. Clearly, there are many more reasons to visit the town. Thanks for the tips! Safe travels!
I find it fascinating that all the buildings are white and their roof tiles red. Is there some sort of building ordinance that restricts them from choosing other colors? Kinda like an ancient form of HOA rules, haha.
Wonderful photos that really capture the beauty of the town and interesting story of that chapel. Did you notice a seagull photobombed your first photo from Sitio, looking down on the beach and town? :)
Thanks, Keri! You can't take a bad picture in Nazaré. I'm going to have to wait until May laptop is back up to check out that picture. I know I took many, many pictures that had a gull in them - some of them deliberate even! Very hard to take a picture there without a gull.

Very interesting and the great photos.
Glad you had a little vacation !
Thanks Aunt Peggy! Sending you hugs!
Great post! We sadly missed Nazare when we were there last winter. Let us know when your travels bring you to Madeira!
You got it!
Ahhhhhh ... these photos are balm for my soul. Thank you.
It's tough to take a bad photo in Nazaré. :-)
What a beautiful place to explore! Beaches, history and tile! 😍
This was fun to read and learn about a new locale!
Glad you liked it!
The blue tiles are wonderful.
Aren't they?

Glad you made it to visit our town. Sorry we missed you while you were here. We live in Sitio.
We will have to go out for lunch next time we are up! We adored Sitio!

Hmmm... maybe a blog post?

After several "Where's Waldo?" minutes, we spotted it. Good eye!
