Entertaining! Personally, I would have voted for Give the Wolf a Banana! Choreography and costuming! 🤣

This is a top five favorite post! So fun and informative! (Also, pretty sure I had a dress like ONJ's back in the day...)

I feel so out of the loop! In the USA it must be a YouTube thing. I've never heard of it. Then again, I'm working a lot and watch food network or movies. Love you both.

I'd barely heard of Eurovision before we thought about this move. Amy hadn't heard of it at all. It's surprising to me how much that's important here is just not a thing in the US.

email from Aunt Franny: Extremely surprised that you are not familiar with Eurovision. Numerous winners and runners up from that contest have become superstars...ABBA, Celine Dion, Julio Iglesias to mention just a few. Try listening to Julio Iglesias duet with Dianna Ross on youtube, and Celine Dion.

Most of music;;;;not rap...got their roots from Eurovision/Europe. (Except for the Beatles which I consider CRAP)

I'd never heard of it. I don't think news of it in our lifetimes made it across the pond.

I was rooting for Norway last year 😭😭😭

It took me a loooong time to warm to it. Now I concede it is excedingly well done. Hard to believe they had not been a band before.

Well, yah! That was a powerhouse that just gets better every time I watch it.

Will you root for Norway again this year? Should be an enormously popular entry.

I do like Norway's this year too but I haven't heard everyone's yet. Someone else might grab me 👀

I like Spain's, too. And I think Portugal's entry will do well. Assuming the front-runner gets the nod on Saturday.

TOTALLY Love Portugal's entry. Unless they do something stupid and don't pick The Only One That Deserves To Be In It.

Have you seen the 2020 film, "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga" - Rachel McAdams & Will Ferrell? It may be only on Netflix, but you should check it out if you get a chance. Silly and funny with some great music - right up your alley (and ours too)! You could find some of the songs on youtube, most likely.

I'll be watching the videos you linked tonight with Adam - looking forward to them, especially with your descriptions!

Haha, we really enjoyed "Give the Wolf a Banana"! Would qualify that one as GOOD-weird whereas the "Cha Cha Cha" was just weird-weird and so strange how it went from Marilyn Manson to Justin Bieber (Adam's comment).

Wolf/Banana seemed inspired by this classic from a decade ago - "What Does the Fox Say?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jofNR_WkoCE

Isn't Cha just ugh weird? *shiver* Glad that one is over. Oh, wait, it's in this year's competition and polling well. *sigh*

Hahaha, agree, seeing Cha ONCE was more than enough for me!

What Does the Fox Say is also Norwegian (which I imagine you probably know) so there's definitely been talk about this connection: https://wiwibloggs.com/2022/01/10/norway-are-ylvis-behind-subwoolfers-melodi-grand-prix-2022-entry/268386/

And, naturally, they had some fun with the speculation about their identities: https://wiwibloggs.com/2022/01/10/norway-are-ylvis-behind-subwoolfers-melodi-grand-prix-2022-entry/268386/

And I love the "from Marilyn Manson to Justin Beiber" comment :-D.

Oh, funny, I didn't know there was a suspected connection. Even more intriguing!

Have not seen that film but it sounds amazing. Sadly, it appears to be only on Netflix, which we do not currently subscribe to.
